Where To Eat And Drink In Bornholm – My Favourite Cafe – Hasle

If we fancy popping out for a coffee and a slice of cake we head over to Hasle and the Cafe Emajoka.
It has 2 outdoor terraces both overlooking the small fishing harbour and you can drink your coffee while watching the boats come and go.

Inside there’s plenty of seating in a nicely decorated and cosy interior.

They sell tea and coffee, locally brewed beers and have a nice selection of homemade cakes.
They also sell beef burgers and the like.

Free Seasonal Fruit And Veg For Our Guests

What’s growing in our garden in 2017?

For the last two years we have offered free home grown organic fruit and vegetables to our guests throughout the season.
This started in 2015 with a few small raised beds filled with some strawberry plants, a few sugar snap peas and some salads. Our guests loved that so last year we expanded with more raised beds and a 250 square metre fenced vegetable patch.
Once again the guests loved this and there was nothing better than watching couples and families heading out to the garden, basket in hand, to dig up some new potatoes, pick some runner beans or harvest a head of lettuce.
For many families this was the first time that the children had picked their own fruit and veg and we would often see parents taking photos of the kids digging up some carrots or eating strawberries straight off the plants.

This year we will again be offering free fruit and vegetables to all guests.

Everything is home grown, organically, from heirloom seeds and this year we will be trying a selection of beans, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, beetroot, kale, peas, lettuce, radishes, pumpkins and squash.

We now have a greenhouse so the tomatoes should be ready to eat earlier and their season should be longer.

On the fruit front we have cherries, blackcurrants, red currants, gooseberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. We also have a few apple trees and a pear tree.

Guests can also use the BBQ patio and al fresco dining area.

Where to eat and drink in Bornholm – Cultural dishes – Hasle smokehouse

The old(est) smokery is just back from the beach in Hasle on the north coast of the island.
A great place for lunch – Local smoked fish and a local beer.

It’s a 5 minute walk from Hasle harbour (see video)
